look how he's grown

Well I don't have much to update with so I thought I would travel back in time and just remind you all how much our little peanut has grown. I think he is at least a cashew now!! (haha)

Birth: 15 ounces 11.5 inches long (not on the charts of course)

1 month: 1 pound 4 ounces

2 months: 2 pounds 4 ounces

3 months: 4 pounds 4 ounces

4 months: 6 pounds 1 ounce

5 months: 8 pounds 3 ounces; 20 inches

6 months: 10 pounds 6 ounces; 21 inches

7 months: 11 pounds 8 ounces

8 months: 13 pounds 6 ounces

9 months: 14 pounds 12 ounces; 25 inches

10 months: 16 pounds

11 months: 16 pounds 6 ounces

1 year: 17 pounds 15 ounces (still not on the charts)

15 months: 19 pounds 8 ounces; 29 inches

20 months: 22 pounds 1 ounce; 29 inches (Finally on the charts at 3rd percentile for weight and not on the charts for height)

2 years 9 months old: 26 pounds; 34 inches (5th for weight and finally 3rd for height)

I just can't believe how much he has grown and everyday he continues to amaze us. By what he can do, by what he can say (good and bad...haha) and that he is so healthy (considering). He is awesome.

We haven't been doing much lately but we did head the local fair last weekend and Jack loved it. Of course I didn't have my camera with me but he was so cute. He was obsessed with the horsies and now he wants one at his house. He wasn't too fond on the big fat pigs but loved the piglets. He rode on a kiddie ride (train) all my himself and he was so proud of that. Then we went on these purple dragon things that are like the teacups at disney. Horrible idea. I'm too old to be spinning around in circles like that. Jack even told me that he wanted to be all done. HAHA! All in all, he had a blast. All the animals he could imagine and tons of John Deer Tractors. He was in heaven with that.

I have attached a few pictures from today. Enjoy! And I will be updating more when Jack gets his "sassies" They should be in at the end of the week. The first ones we ordered were on back order for at least 4 weeks so we had to find another pair we liked. Wish us luck!

(he's not really going potty...that's not working so well....we'll try more in a few months)

sassies

An update from his pulmonologist appointment about a week ago:

Tonsils very big and touching. The doctor couldn't even see to the back of this throat. We are awaiting his upcoming appointment with the ENT to see if we are going to get his tonsils out. He is still having ear drainage (although not as much since he has been on his new med) but none the less, it's still there.

He weighed in at the appointment 26 pounds 4 ounces and 34.5 inches long. Dr. M was very very excited. The cookies, cake and pancakes are paying off!!! He is not in the 10th percentile for height and weight (better than the 4th percentile last appointment!)

He also started Jack on a nasal spray for allergy type symptoms. Let me tell you how fun a nasal spray is with a 2.5 year old. NOT!

Eye appointment update:

NOT GOOD!!! We just switched eye doctors. He only had to go once a year and last appointment the dr said he was a bit near sighted but nothing major and didn't require glasses. I really didn't think much about this appointment at all. Just a yearly check up. Much to my surprise the dr said that he was a -2.00 in his right eye (exactly the same as Matt which is not good for such a young little peanut) and a -0.75 in his right. So..........his sassies (glasses...that's what Jack calls them) are on order. The dr. seemed a little perturbed that his eye sight was that bad and that he wasn't in glasses already and wanted to know what his prescription was last time. So he is getting medical recs from the other dr. and see where the ball was dropped. Not that there is anything we can do now. He said that near sightedness doesn't get better in kids like far sightedness does but hopefully we can slow the progression of it getting worse. Who knows?!!? And hopefully he will keep the darn things on, which i think he will for a time. He loves to wear his sun-sassies!!!!

I think that's all I have for now. I have no pictures to post at this time, but I'll add a few from last year at this time and the year before that, just to see how much he has grown!!!

ENJOY

puppy pooped on me elmo book

That's right. Puppy (Lucy) did pooped on Jack's Elmo book. We had a long 4 weeks with Lucy and in the end we had to give her back to the pound. Not only did my sanity become a problem with a 2.5 year old and a puppy, but Jack's asthma was getting worse and it started when we got the puppy. So, without spending a bizillion dollars getting tested for allergies, we decided it would be best to take her back to the pound. It was very sad and I bawled my eyes out. It didn't help that Jack was constantly feeding the dog (ie; guacamole pringles) so Lucy was having some poopy issues.........all over ELMO!!!

So my sanity is much better now and we are all less stressed out and Jack didn't seem to be affected by her leaving at all.

Onto JACK updates.

DaDaDaDa.....HE'S 26 POUNDS!!!! YAYAYAYAY!!!! That's a HUGE weight gain for him. He has an appointment with the lung doctor in Indy on Friday and I really hope he is pleased with the gain. I am sure he will be!!!

We all had a great 4th of July. This was the first year Jack saw fireworks and we knew he was either going to love them or hate them. HE LOVED THEM!!! We went to a cookout with Matt's brother and Jack stayed awake until almost midnight and he watched them in the sky. We saw "popcorn" ones and boooo and lellow and wed and pink. He did great. He slept til 9 the next morning and we all took a 3.5 hour nap. PERFECT!!!

Then it was daddy's birthday. HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY DADDY!!! We slept all day (haha) and then went to dinner with some family and friends and then poor daddy had to work 3rd shift. ICKY!!!!
Jack and Daddy on his birthday!!!
In more news, we just found out Jack will be starting the "preschool" part of his daycare on August 25. I can't believe he is closer to 3 than 2. WOW!!! Where has time gone. It's so fun to listen to him and watch him d something new everyday. And he is getting so gullible and smart all at the same time. Like tonight, Jack did the thumb trick where it looks like you take the end of your thumb off and he totally fell for it and he was very worried. Then Matt did the same thing to his bellybutton. Acted like he took off his belly button and put it in Jack's hand and shut his hand and Jack was freaking out and wanted it back on his belly. It's so cute!!!! Then of course, he wanted to take mommy and daddy's buttons off!!!
Here are some pictures from the past week or so.
Jack thinking mommy is funny for a minute. HA!

"Where's Jack??"

PEEK-A-BOO!!!
