Christmas 2008

I have posted a ton of pictures from all the festivities the past couple of days. Christmas was so awesome this year because Jack was really into it. He knew that Santa was coming on "wednesday" when he went to bed. That's his favorite day of the week for some reason. I was lucky enough to have the whole week off of work and Jack and I had a great time. On Thursday we had a terrible ice storm which left us without power from Friday morning until Saturday night. And since Matt and I are so smart......we didn't have a key to our front door (we just put on a new handle and lock on our door and hadn't taken a key yet) So Saturday we had to hire a locksmith to get in. Although the power came back on about 3 hours after the locksmith came, it was worth it. Jack's meds were in the house and we were told we wouldn't have power until Wednesday. Thank goodness Mimi and Papa had power, because my sister was without as well (until the 23rd). After Christmas on Sunday at Mimi and Papa's, Jack and I never left the house until Wednesday (bad idea....Walmart on Christmas Eve????!!!)

Enjoy the pictures. I hope everyone had a wonderful, memorable Christmas. God BLESS!

playing with his Christmas blocks....I can't keep this child dressed

Jack in his "white beater" as he calls it! HA!

Christmas with Jack's Godparents and our great friends, Bob and Jaime

Jack got a John Deer Build-a-bear-in-a-box. He named him Frank. HA!

Santa's "dinner" that Jack made. 3 cookies, a frozen chicken nugget and his sippy cup with water in it. When we were going to bed, he told me not to forget the yogurt.
The video above is him first walking down the stairs on Christmas morning. The video below (sorry it's sideways for a bit) is a little after. He asked is he table was a cake. HA! Because he had a Thomas the Train cake that looked like a track for his birthday and it was blue and green. He is so imaginative!

opening presents on Christmas morning. He was a little smartie pants and we are going to have to be careful next year. I had some wrapping paper of my mom's and he said, "Mimi has that wrapping paper. That present isn't at Mimi's anymore!" WOW! So Smart!

2 thomas the trains that are exactly alike. how dare Santa!!!

opening Yo Gabba Gabba guitar from More Mimi

Getting ready to open More Mimi's present

YO GABBA GABBA GUITAR!!!!!

playing his guitar!

We had to open the rest of his presents for him because he couldn't NOT play with the train table. And we were worried about not enough things to open!

look at his mouth..."Choooo Chooo"

WOW!!! Do you think he has enough trains??? Don't worry, he didn't get all those from Santa. He had a lot of them before.

Hugging Daddy because "I love Santa Claus, Daddy!"
After opening presents, Matt and Jack and I headed to IHOP (the only place opened) and had some breakfast. We came home and played train table and took a 2 hour nap!!!!! Then headed off to Uncle Jimmy's house for some yummy food and good company. We got to see Grandma Jenny too. She loved her present (Jack painted her a mural!!!). He was ready to go home because he "missed his Thomas the Train Table!!!" He is never going to want to leave home!

Me playing guitar hero at my brother-in-law's. I'm addicted....Shhhh!!! Don't tell anyone!

Jack playing Guitar Hero with the big boys (Cousins Dakota and Ian an Daddy)

Now Jack's playing the drums. (not plugged in!)

What's on our Christmas tree?

I have been wanting to dedicate a post to our Christmas tree. Jack is very proud of his Christmas tree this year. He worked very hard helping decorate it and putting the ornament on just so. A girl I know has a post on her blog every Wednesday called "What's on my tree Wednesday". I am not good enough to remember to post a new ornament every Wednesday so I thought I would do one big post on it!! I will try to give a little history on the ornaments if I have any or if I remember....This will be a good quiz for me.

This is a wooden block with star shaped Santa's on each side that my grandpa made for Jack 2 years ago. We have 2 of these, the other is red.

This is one of Jack's very first ornaments. He had this hanging up in the NICU. First it was on the bulletin board outside the NICU on his name and then he hung on his bed, almost until he went home.

We "believe" in a lot of things. MIRACLES especially!

My mom and dad gave Matt and I these our first Christmas together and I always hang them together on the Christmas tree

Jack just got this one from Mimi the other day. He knew right away that he had his name on it.

This one will always make me laugh. It's just a styrofoam ball that is painted. Jack for the past 2 years has been terrified of it. He wouldn't even touch it or come close to it. I don't know if it was a texture thing or if it was just scary to him. And then the hook fell out of the top of it once and he flipped out. Hysterical!

The BOWLING snowman family.

This is one of the 2 dinos that we bought last week at Macy's when we went shopping with Jack's cousins (Audrey, Ali and Abbey) I was so excited about them because they were so cute and 40% off and then we got home and I couldn't find them anyway. I was so sad. I looked everywhere. Then Jack and I went outside to hang up lights and Jack found them on the floor of the garage. They somehow got hooked to my velcro on my coat and fell off.

This one used to be my moms. She has all kinds of wooden ornaments that are from nursery rhymes. And of course I had to have the "Jack and Jill" one.

EEEEKKKK!!! I know, I know, I went to Purdue, but Matt's a big Michigan fan so I let him have ONE michigan ornament on the tree. FUNNY STORY: My brother in law is a big Notre Dame fan and Jack and I were at their house the other day and he looked at his tree, saw a Notre Dame ornament and asked if it said "Michigan!" FAMILY RIVARLY!

This was given to me about 10 years ago by my favorite pharmacist of all times, Leslie P.

Just got this one this year. A cookie "B" for Bowling!

Not very Christmas-y but my mom got this one for us when we got married.

My Grandma gave me this star fish. She used to go with us to Florida every year so it was a great reminder what great times we had there

One of Jack's first. a JACK-IN-THE-BOX! How appropriate. I lost it for a year and found it inside of a stocking. Glad it's found

The other dino

Kind of blurry. It's the gingerbread Bowling family

Jack on a choo-choo train! New this year from Mimi

Jack's very first homemade oramanet. The NICU nurses made this for us when he was in the hospital. He was about 3 weeks old when this footprint was made.

And last but not least, snowman holding a JACK-IN-THE-BOX!! one of Jack's first (that was lost for a year)

JACK AND HIS TREE!!!!
Jack is very excited about Santa this year. It's so awesome this year because he actually "gets it". He thinks that Santa works with Papa and they are going to make a train table and then Mimi helps the elves paint the train table. I LOVE IT!!! I can't wait until Christmas morning!!!!!

Pictures Galore

It's been a while since my last post and I know I left you hanging with his weigh in at his 3 year doctor's appointment.

Are you ready????

28 pounds 8 ounces and 36 inches tall!!!! Which means he is officially on the growth charts at 25% for weight!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and 10% for height! Which is absolutely incredible and awesome and fabulous and wonderful!!!!! Thank goodness for donut holes, sugar cookies, pancakes with butter and syrup and bacon!!!! HAHA!!!

This post will be full of pictures, as I have lots back logged in my new pictures folder. So enjoy!!!

pretending to be baby with a binky and nap time.
Goofball!

Jack and his friend Zoey pretending to eat lunch

Jack's newest obsession (Christmas village)

I just thought this picture was toooooo cute to pass up. He is so entertained by this thing, it's amazing. He will sit by it for about 20 mintues just staring.

Jack with Daddy (Daddy was in a wedding this past weekend) Jack was great. He had no nap and lasted until 10pm. He couldn't wait for the dancing to start at the reception and didn't stop dancing for about an hour. If he would have stopped, he would have fell asleep standing. (Forgot the camera at the reception)

Jack's pretend smile

Jack and Daddy again at the wedding. Jack being a weirdo!!!

Jack visiting Santa Claus. He was TERRIFIED. We finally got him on his lap. Look at his poor little face. He was scared. The only words he said to Santa was "yes" at every question that Santa asked.

Thank goodness Mimi was with him. I don't think he would have done it otherwise.

Listening very intently on Santa's every word

Ready to get off his lap. After the sitting was done Santa told Jack he liked Chocolate chip cookies so then we went to get a drink and cookies and he wanted a chocolate chip one to take back to Santa. He thought he was hot stuff once he had actually done the deed and sat on his lap.

Jack sitting in the shoe box of my nephews new shoes. Now either Jake has BIG feet (13 and he is 14 yrs old ) or Jack's a small little peanut.

Jack-in-the-box

POP!!!!!!!! goes the Jack-in-the-box
